【Functions and Indication】Clear heat and resolve toxin, disperse swelling and relieve pain. For treatment of wind-heat common cold, sore swollen throat, throat impediment, mumps, pain in the stomach duct and abdomen, dysentery, traumatic injuries, swollen boils and poisonous snake bites.

【Administration and Dosage】9～15g. Take proper amount for external use.

【Characteristics】It tastes Bitter and is cool in nature. According to modern pharmacological studies, this product has a broad-spectrum antimicrobial effect and is used clinically to treat diseases such as cold fevers, acute tonsillitis and dysentery. In addition, it is used externally to treat haemorrhoids. Compounds consisting of it and alum work better with a fuming-washing therapy.
